Objective: Accretion of bone mass in childhood is dependent on both bone modeling and remodeling. We recently found that preosteoclasts secrete platelet derived growth factor type BB (PDGF-BB) to promote angiogenesis coupling with osteogenesis during both modeling and remodeling.
